Our option was surgery...hence the photos:
She looked adorable in the little gown...however, we were laughing as we overheard the nurses debating her size ...basically arguing whether to use the smaller pink gown or the larger blue gown. The male nurse poked his head in to look at us one final time and then said..."well...she may be 2 but she's a BIG 2!"...alas the blue gown was chosen...
They came in and marked X's above both eyes...in permanent marker I might add. Then they doled out Chad's lovely garb. The hair cap was truly special...and honestly, it was the real reason I decided to take photos with my phone. Coco thought it looked funny too...but in this pic she is feeling a little loopy...

This is a photo post-op...still under anesthesia and looking very fragile...
Her ducts were clogged...terribly, terribly clogged, according to her surgeon. Apparently, by his estimation, we have avoided all sorts of major problems by clearing them now...so... yeah! She'll have stents in her eyes until we see the surgeon in 3 months...at which time he'll remove them with itty bitty forceps...while she's awake! That visit should be interesting and scary since she won't even let me get near her with eye drops! Our favorite part of her post-op prescription revolved around what she's not allowed to do...including the following:
sneeze
rub her eyes
get water in her eyes
blow her nose
rub her eyes
get water in her eyes
blow her nose
ummm...seriously?...How do I tell her that she's not allowed to sneeze? So naturally, all she does now is sneeze, rub her eyes, splash like crazy in the bath, and blow her nose. I wonder if this would be the case if they had not prescribed these particular avoidances...humm...
She's feeling great and she seems completely unaware of the tubes in her tear ducts, even though they look awfully uncomfortable. So, here's to 3 months of tube watching!!!
