As the seasons roll on by...

Have I mentioned that we really LOVE fall? Alex says that this is his favorite season...I think that has to do with Halloween! Fall for us can be summed up in 4 words: football, apples, pumpkins, and Halloween.

Since Alex is in Kindergarten now...we are officially Avon Eagles fans, so we ventured out to one of the high school football games a couple weeks ago. The memories of high school games definitely flooded back as we walked around the stadium searching for a seat. Especially because the Avon Stadium looks almost identical to the Fairmont Stadium. Which is actually a little crazy because Kettering Fairmont was Division 1 and Avon Football is Division 3. Chad was laughing at it's minuscule size compared with his high school's Stadium...Fawcett Stadium...the Stadium next to the Football Hall of Fame Museum that is home to 2 college and 2 high school teams and holds a Pre-Season Pro Game every year during Hall of Fame week. Regardless of the looks and size...it was definitely nostalgic...and weird being the parent at a game. Alex got so excited whenever he saw his friends, Coco loved watching the cheerleaders, and Brennan just kept asking for treats!

The kids LOVE apples, so apple picking became one of our annual traditions when Alex was 2. Every year I haul the kids to Apple Hill to pick apples. This year was the most fun so far since I wasn't trolling the fields pregnant or slinging a 13 lb. sleeping baby. We had full child participation! Here are some of my favorite pics:
I love this pic of the boys comparing apple notes: The other day Alex was eating an apple and I overheard him say..."Coco do you want a bite of my apple?"...and as if to entice her more he said..."it's Organic!"

Brennan is the absolute Puzzle King...he started putting puzzles together last winter when he was 2 and a 1/2 and has been putting multiple puzzles together daily ever since. It's insane that a 3 year old can do these 100 pieces puzzles that say "for ages 6 and up"! He has an uncanny attention span! He was VERY excited to see this extremely large puzzle and had to completely master it before we left. Here he is putting the last piece in place:
Picking out our pumpkins is another fun tradition...although this year it was a little hectic with 2 kids scattering to find the perfect pumpkin and Coco utterly confused why another woman with a crazy professional camera was literally yelling "Coco! Look over here!" to a girl her same age. She must have stared at that lady for 10 minutes before deciding she wasn't referring to her. It was funny...I remember the first time Alex noticed someone else was named Alex...quite confusing, especially since it was a little girl!...we haven't run across that problem with Brennan yet. As far as he knows, he's the only Brennan in the whole world!

We were trying to get Cosette to smell the mums...but she wanted to eat them instead...and we'd laugh and she'd laugh...thus creating a vicious cycle of hilarity...

I turned around and saw the boys sitting all cute on this haystack that had a huge sign on it that read "NO CLIMBING!"... All the other parents and kids that were there looked so festive in their halloween-ey garb and were taking the cutest pics! This is how my kids looked:
...don't you love their seasonal outfits and their excitement!!!

...and then there is the carving of the pumpkins:
While the hard labor was going on, Cosette decided to indulge in her favorite past time. She throws all the phone books on the floor, rips out the pages, crumples them up in a ball, then yells with her arm outstretched until I take the pieces from her...like so:

Halloween comes next!!! Brennan said this to me the other day, "Mama you better drink all your coffee or we won't have any fun on Halloween!" So I'll be drinking all my coffee and waiting for my vampire, pumpkin, and pink poodle to go trick-or-treating this year! H-A-double L-O-W-double E-N spells HALLOWEEN!
